tip 17: How to Close an Account
Some people might want to close their account for some reasons. While this is not a good decision, we still show you here how to do that.
On the other hand, we also may decide to close your account due to too much security issues. That's being explained below.
It's not advised to close your Centregold account for the following reasons:
- It's free: Just keeping it open won't cost you anything.
- You may still need it in the future: Having a well-setup and working account is important if you need to buy or sell digital currency units urgently in the future.
- It's safe: You do not have to worry about the safety of your personal information at all. In Canada, private information is well protected. We have a very strict and strong privacy policy here which doesn't allow us to share customer information with anyone except by request of law enforcement agencies or courts.
If however you still want to close your account, you can do that by logging in your account at Centregold and clicking on the menu "close account" :
Then you have to provide the reason why you want to close your account. After that, we'll evaluate if your problem can be solved or not before executing your request.
On the other hand, if we've decided to close (or block) your account without your consent then we'll tell you by email why we've done so. Usually that's because of security issues such as duplicated account (only one account per person is allowed) or account being used by a robot or a fraudster...
